So yes. You may, if you don't wander off alone again. We are still working on getting signal in here.

Will you tell your mother where you're staying?

[He'd...try.]
Uhhhhh... I think she'd kind of flip if I had to explain so...
[That would be a no.]

[On the one hand he's not actually fond of Liam, on the other hand ...there are a lot of things, stuck somewhere between corporate business and this is Ariel's friend and I thus I should make sure that he doesn't get into too much trouble because it'll affect the family.]

[Not exactly a lie? Granted Liam had some lingering issues with Dwarves and he had been a real dick to them, but... "shared past life buddies" doesn't exactly sit well on the normal scale.]

That will work.
If you ever need Mardís to talk to her, just mention it to me. [The women are at better terms than Thorir and Liam's uncle by far...]

[He wasn't really expecting the offer, but it was a good thought in case his mom caught onto things.]
Is it okay if I bring Jack?
no subject
[He doesn't want to responsible for the death of someone's pet. And once again wishes that dwarves would have more sense for building safety.]

So is the plumbing working or should I be prepared to do things camping out style?
no subject
The plumbing is more reliable than human plumbing, judging by what I've seen so far, and we installed electricity - the capacity is a bit limited, so no electric heating. There are internet options, and we're still working on mobile signal.

Okay, good to know. I guess I'll have to head out to a cafe or something to do work. I need the internet for that, but that's cool. Um...
[He hesitates.]
So, like... would I have to live deep down in there?
no subject
We have internet. Just no signal for your mobile, so as long as you use skype, you can even phone from here. [Stop implying that their little colony isn't well equipped :||||| aka sounding a bit irate.
Or anything but a nice place to live.] It's above ground. There's just a lot of stone still above you. We haven't yet ventured much below the level of the ground of the city.

[Sigh. It's not like he wanted to admit it or offend the the person in charge of where he'd be living.]
No offence to you or your mountain, but I get like, claustrophobic or something if I can't see light. It freaks me out.
